Are these acne scars?

I had severe breakouts on cheeks but now its calmed down. My acne on cheeks are completely flat and no longer flaming. The problem now are these red, raw beef colored spots on cheeks. I thought they were acne scars until someone told me it might be Post Imflamatory Hyperpigmentation. What should I do thats cheap?

Considered going to dermotologist but costs thousands of dollars and I no have.

It may be too early to tell if it is scarring. Give it time to heal and smooth out. Use gentle products so the skin retains some of it's natural moisture. When my daughter needed stitches on her face due to an accident, the plastic surgeon said to keep it wet and not to let a scab form. Then once it was healed to break open a vitamin E capsule and rub it in to the area twice a day. Not exactly the same situation but it seems to me the tissue would heal better if kept hydrated.

Deep scarring can be diminished by an skin peel. Peels are done in varying degrees of strength. They should ONLY be done by a dermatologist or plastic surgeon. Never get a peel from a salon. Often the doctor will try something like Retin-A before resorting to a peel. Retin-A will make your skin 'turn over' faster and reveal newer skin. It can help smooth out rough areas. The retinol creams you can buy OTC work on the same principle but they are not as strong. Use sunscreen if you use them.

Take a good multi-vitamin and drink plenty of water to keep your skin hydrated from the inside out and really does help keep skin clear. Eat more fruits and veggies - water content and they are not processed. This will provide your body with the vitamins it needs to heal and regenerate cells.

i don't know but to stop your acne becoming like those eat less sugars, go to the body shop and get the green oil soap which is really cheap and wash your face with it twice a day it really helps
Reply:you could go really cheap and buy palmers cocoa butter and rub the stuff on them constantly and if they show no sign of fading then start putting Mederma on them
Reply:heres what you do

1.go to wal-mart

2.buy cleansing and healing face lotion

3.use after showers until it clears up
Reply:Well, you can start by getting some acne scar treatment. It shouldn't hurt your skin, but it may help. I recommend a scar and stretch mark botanical formula.

But the best thing to do would be see a dermatologist or a doctor. Then you can know exactly what the problem is.
Reply:If you have medical insurance try to find a dermatologist that accept it, or just go to your health provider, he or she might know what exactly is! It might be not acne scars it could be burned spots from products that you are using to clean your face or an allergy reaction!
Reply:actually you can. its free with insurance. if ur from new york don't go to those in high end parts like the upper eastside, doctors dont accept it. mine doesn't either since i chose a well renowned one who i see on all the bus and subway ads.
Reply:Really consider the dermatologist. You will be so much more confortable if you feel your best. After all, it is on your face, not really some place you can cover with a shirt or long pants. It is well worth the cost.
Reply:eww yes
Reply:i also have same problem,my dermatologist told me there is no technology to remove it because its deep inside the skin,i was adviced to used whitening cream just to whiten the area and prevent sun exposure to prevent it for becoming darker
Reply:my favorite for getting rid of dark acne marks is a $9 mild skin lightening soap - black licorice soap.. worked really well for me.
