Ok seriously people, dont post it if you have never tryed it! Im looking for a system that ACTUALLY WORKS! Oh and I dont care if ProActiv worked on Jessica simpson! It made my skin exstreamly dry! I dont care about the price I just want a system that work! Im 14 years old and have moderate acne like right now i probalby have 2 pimples on my chin and quite a few on the forehead like about 5. I also have them on my cheeks but none at the moment! Another issue I have is the scars left behind! Whats a good treatment for scars? Just normal acne scars. Cover up does do a great job for me but I want to be able to go out with no cover-up and loreal blendable.

Then finish off with Olay Daily Regenerating Serum and Night Recovery Moisturizing Treatment. Just because the skin is oily doesn't mean it doesn't need moisture. I found out that products like Proactive series are harsh over time. Now that my skin has changed after pregnancies, the Olay products have been much more helpful at fading out any blemishes and dark spots. Good luck to you!

You'll see results immediately. This also helps get rid of wrinkles. A word of warning, don't watch anything funny while wearing the mask. Hurts like a mother if you smile and crack the mask up.

I suggest using an lotion with acids in it.. such as an alpha hydroxy lotion. Get one with at least 7-10% AHA. I got one at the 99 cent store by my house. A huge bottle.
Anyhow, it dries your skin out and turns it over. The quicker your skin turns over-..the quicker new skin grows. Depending on how deep your scars are--they will eventually fade a little.
Otherwise, go to your doctor and ask for a prescription for Retin A.. That will help your skin peel even quicker.

My niece had really bad acne scars and a couple weeks after starting Retin-A (cream applied 1x day at bedtime) her scarring had faded drastically. It also prevented new breakouts. Retin A is a derivative of Vitamin A and promotes cell regeneration, thus your old/scarred skin will peel for a few days but after that the new skin will start growing in. There is a generic brand that works equally well (Trentonin) and it is covered by most, if not all, insurance companies. By the way, if she is still having acne breakouts, as teens do, it may not be cost effective to have laser, etc done this early. I'd consider treating the source first. If these 2 minor acne scars are effecting her life as you put it, then may I suggest she see a therapist instead to talk about her self esteem issues, which are probably deeper than her skin.

People are often surprised when I admit that I'm in my 40s because they say I look a lot younger than I really am.
A friend of mine at University had bad acne scarring and an on-going battle with acne. I introduced her to Merle Norman and within a few months her break-outs stopped and the scarring started to heal. To look at her now, you'd never believe that she had problems with acne when she was younger.
Merle Norman isn't cheap but it is less expensive than all the skin peels and trips to the dermatologist. Give it a try and see if it works for you.

You can try Neutrogena scar peel! It's a scrub that you apply to your face and leave on for about 10 minutes I believe and then you wash it away. You have to use it daily I think...but it's worth it. It's not very costly at all, and it is reccomended by leading dermatologists.
Also, even if your face is slightly oily, make sure that you apply an appropriate moisturizer to your face before applying the foundation.
Mary Kay is a good product to use in foundations, bases, and powders.

Reply:My brother had the same trouble with Acne he used a product call eryacne wich you can get from the doctor on a script it is a facial cream that you apply once a day and it realy helped his skin but everyones diffrent i suppose, i would go to the GP and ask for their advice they can run a test on your skin and advise you where to go from there, unless of course you have about $2000.00 for laser surgery.

Reply:Hmm...that's a tough one. There are obviously over-the-counter treatments that can be bought affordably. Anything with salicylic acid or benzoyl peroxide kills acne bacteria.
It's good to pair bacteria-fighting medication with a good exfoliate. Salt works well as it will dry up oil, just be sure that you still use an oil-free moisrutizer with it or your skin will become too dry and get irritated.
Scarring is admittedly harder to treat. Things like cocoa butter are often used to lessen the appearance of scars, and they are likely to fade a bit on their own over time.

It's a cleanser that you massage into your dry face for about 3 minutes and then wash it off. It's almost like a mini microdermabrasion where you're removing the dead layers of skin. Personally, ive read alot on acne scars as i have quite a few left over too. What ive heard to do is apply acv(apple cider vinegar, u can buy it at ur grocery store for under 2 bucks) and mix it half and half with warm water. Then dab the diluted acv with a cotton ball and apply it on your scar. Also i have heard that drinking it is great too but it might taste a bit sour :P . Also another great thing to do is go make an appointment with your dermatologist and get her/him to prescribe u a tropical gel called "retin a micro". As ive heard and read, u need to apply just a lil' dab on the scar for about twice a day, preferably morning and night. However the downfall to using retin-a micro is that it will peel your skin - but thats how it works. Using retin-a micro will make ur scars get better before it gets worst. tho retin a micro wont work over night, i am more then certain u will achieve decent results from using it atleast about 2-3 weeks. It takes a bit of time, but im positive that if you use this tropical and dab some acv dilutd with water, those maarks will fade in time. gd luck :)

I have combination skin, and very mild acne(?). I get a couple pimples here and there, but they're usually inflammatory cystes/nodules and leave deep scars. Also, I sometimes I get annoying whiteheads. Gross. And when I get the inflammatory, huge zits, they're front and center in my forehead/T-Zone. Fun. NOT. So basically, I get annoying zits all the time, and I have a treasure map on my forehead. I need a good acne treatment for a pre-teen (12) that isin't expensive. Please, no ProActiv. It's a tad too expensive. I'm looking for something along the lines of Clearasil, Clean %26amp; Clear, etc, and exactly what to get from them. Also, if anyone knows a quick fix for old AND new acne scars; quick being 1-2 months or less; any reccomendations would be appreciated. Thank you.

Here are some key things to remember when looking for cleansers:
1. A good scrub needs to have some sort of exfoliant (i.e. microbeads, pumice grains, etc.) in it. Once you have applied the hot rag to your face and opened up your pores, the scrub is used to get deep down into the pores and clean them out.
2. In a good scrub, stay away from anything that has a lot of soap or fragrance to it. Fragrance = additives that probably will makes things worse. Your main ingredient when looking for a scrub is salicylic acid. Salicylic acid acts as an antibacterial to cleanse deep to break up the blackheads and fight the bacteria causing them.
3. A good toner should be found because once the skin is clean, the toner is used to tighten the cleansed pores to minimalize the entrance of future bacteria. And sadly to say it (but get over it), A TONER DOES STINK! Its made primarily of alcohol, so it will stink! Get over it! It's worth it!
4. Lastly, and a lot of people don't think about this, find a light lotion with an added sunscreen (at least SPF 15). You want a light lotion (nothing fancy or fragrancy) with a sunscreen to prevent dryness from the toner and the sunscreen will help protect from sun damage (obviously!).
Always remember to catch blackheads before they start (before they become pimples)! And for the love of God: DO NOT PICK AT A PIMPLE IF YOU GET ONE! Picking only creates more infection from the bacteria on your hands....and most importantly: it's just GROSS! Some brands to try for a scurb or toner would be: Oil of Olay, Biore`, Clinique, Clean %26amp; Clear, Clearasil.......just to name a few! Also remember to drink lots of water to help keep down ure intake of oils. Oh and p.s. to guys who are reading this: just because girls use it in a commercial DOES NOT mean that a guy cannot use it too! A girl would like it a lot more to see a guy with a clean face and a cabinet full of girly skin care stuff, than Mister Zit next door! I'm gay....trust me on this!

.. I havent old acne scars and havent found a good treatment yet! I'm going to the Derm. and he suggests after awhile of making sure I dont break out anymore hes going to try out some scar treatments. So the only way to get rid of scars is really through a Derm. .. Plus they will lighten over time.

Are there any procedures that can be done for my acne scarred skin. Most of my scars are on my cheeks and it is just really horrible looking. I am so young, I'm only 18 and my skin is ruined with these marks. Can anyone tell me of some treatments that can be done for my skin and how much it will cost and where to get it done. I would even go to a plastic surgeon if there is a way for them to get rid of my scars. I would like whatever they do to be permanent! Please let me know the best thing to have done!

Yea just call lol My friend reccomended them. They make their own line of Harmony creams. They are all NATURAL and they REALLY WORK! They have some for acne and all kinds of different kinds. And they even customize it for you - like if you want a medical level moisturizer then you can ask them to use like more lavendar if you like that scent. If you don't live in their area they can ship it to you!

I have a few dark spots on my face from pimples but the thing is is i dont know if I should use the Acne Mark Fading peel or anything else like that because I am using the acne perscription Differin. i have the same problem, this is my experience of how might help you to relieve the acne scars
1, every nite have your shower head (preferably with a little bit of water pressure) spraying your face up close with warm water.
do this for 5-8 mins for each side of the cheek. this helps the blood circulation of your skin cells plus fasten the healing process of your scar.
2. drink adequate amount of water as the water is needed for cell repairs
3. keep your skin moisturized is another KEY factor in this process.
4. gently massage your face a little while you performed the first task with the shower head.
personally i would also recommend one product
the total turnaround mask of clinique is quite amazing indeed. i had a scar a month ago and i used the mask twice a week and it has almost went away completely.
do it before your sleep and dont forget to moisturize afterwards. also make sure you have at least 7 hours of sleep every nite.

I'm using Differin too. It took time for the red marks to fade.
I was looking at photos of me from March and the marks just looked awful, compared to some pictures from July/August....quite a difference.
The Differin can really dry your skin out (the gel was more drying than the cream) so make sure you use a moisturizer after washing the Differin off.
Just give it time and keep using it religiously, the marks do fade.

They can give you perscriptions (pills, creams) to treat you from the inside so that you dont get the cysts and nodules on the outside ;) All the over the counter stuff is great for white heads but not something as serious as cysts! Please go see a dermatologist now so that your scars dont get any worse! I didnt start seeing a dermatologist until I was 29 yrs old and have the acne scars to show for it! Im now on Accutane for my acne which is basically the last resort of acne medications due to the serious side effects. Your young yet so there is a great chance that your acne scars will go away on their own....but in the mean time try using some vitamin e gel on your face. I have to resort to laser treatments when Im done taking the Accutane to have my scars removed. Good luck!!

1) By using acne products it wont "cure it" it will prevent it.
2) ProActiv I saw a testominal that this young lady who used it for 2 years?? She wasn't satisified until she had to go under laser surgey which helped reducing the acne scars
3) Acne scars will never ever go away since you keep picking, scratching, squeezing on it or rubbing it
4) Acne doesn't appear late, that's on some cases, I think what you eat or drink has an effect on it such as caffine

i have serious acne problem.. well depends on how you look at it but i have acne and acne scars on my forehead and little spots / acne scars on my cheeks and chin. i want something that works and i don't really care how long it takes but it should be effective and please don't say proactive or laser surgery.. i heard clearasil works and i really want to try it out but i don't know which one to choose. any suggestions?

hey, before ive posted a question about my acne scars. then this person messaged me and told me that curad works for her friend and her friend had tons and tonss , now they've disappeared.then i called curad and they said they dont think it works for acne scars, just normal scars.. i dont know. im using mederma, since feb 20. its lighting =] but then still a lot of acne scars. should imake appointment with doctor? for microdermabrasion? how much is it? any one experienced it? also, should i just go to spa? help =[

Don't worry too much about the acne. If you know what you're doing maybe you could use some kind of makeup, but if you don't I wouldn't, because you don't want to draw more attention to it. No one is going to think badly about you because you had acne, so don't fret about it too much. (This isn't a date....)
The sweater with the shirt should be fine as long as the sweater is nice, and is CLEAN - black will show cat hair or dandruff or whatever.
Be proud of yourself, self-confident without being arrogant, and do your best. They'll probably ask you some of the same questions and some different, but by now you should know pretty much what they're looking for.

As for the acne scars, do try make up to cover. Use a concealer on spots, then let dry and use a foundation. Be sure to blend well around your jaw line, so that it doesnt look like a mask. Also, dont try to pile it on because that is not flattering either. After concealer and foundation, try to bring some focus to your eyes, by lining them and using natural shades of eyeshadow. Most likely, you will be much more scrutinizing of your scars than they will. they probaly wont even notice because they are there to get a sense of who you are and not your physical flaws. Don't worry too much about the acne. If you know what you're doing maybe you could use some kind of makeup, but if you don't I wouldn't, because you don't want to draw more attention to it. No one is going to think badly about you because you had acne, so don't fret about it too much. (This isn't a date....)
The sweater with the shirt should be fine as long as the sweater is nice, and is CLEAN - black will show cat hair or dandruff or whatever.
Be proud of yourself, self-confident without being arrogant, and do your best. They'll probably ask you some of the same questions and some different, but by now you should know pretty much what they're looking for.

Another thing, don't put this product on in the morning, the sun deactivates this product. If you are sixteen I recommend the "Retin-A Micro", it is not so harsh on your skin, and it doesn't make you peel all the time. I love this product, I use it every night. I hope this works for you!

Proactive's for any age, I believe.
Lots, probably--laser treatments of any kind are pretty expensive. However, it shouldn't be TOO much if you find a valuable center in your area... =o
