i am of african origin and i have dark spots all over my face. i have tried a lot of products but nothing really works. can i get any ideas of products that really work on acne scars. i reaaly need your help cause i'm loosing hope for a clear and smooth skin.
Acne scars?
First of all I'd say good skin health, lots of water, good diet (lots of zinc can help healing), exfoliation, moisturising, toner, and my personal recommendation would be OCM, not only will it make your skin healthier and prevent acne break-outs it will also help heal scars 鈥?try starting out with basic EVOO:CO mix with lavender or tea tree oil, then change over to Jojoba oil. OCM = Oil Cleansing Method - http://community.livejournal.com/natural...
A dermatologist would also be useful, a good spar might be an idea as well, bear in mind some dermatologists are not fully aware of healthier options, instead opting for chemical treatments that can be harmful to the skin and your health.
A few home treatment ideas;
Rosehip seed oil, it's fashionable at the moment as an anti-aging/skin healing oil, it is high in essential fatty acids, the same goes for Neem oil 鈥?I personally like to use Burt's Bee's Repair Serum, it's a little pricey but as it is oil it lasts a while and smells nice, it is also not too heavy.
Aloe vera gel is great for skin healing, you can also drink it as a juice that you can get from health stores, this also happens to be great for digestive health as well, but it does not taste at all nice. Aloe vera gel I've found is best to use just as spots are starting to heal or starting to scar/scab to prevent permanent scaring.
Lavender essential oil is very well known for healing scars, it's also mildly antiseptic so can help prevent bacteria getting into newer acne scars.
Vitamin E oil is an obvious one, this is very good for healing scars, however I have always found it to be far too heavy and sticky, which makes me paranoid about it causing more problems even if it never does.

Reply:you really need to see a dermatologist. they can prescribe oinments, procedures and medication for you.
Reply:i use diluted vinegar and my plastic surgeon recommends nivea face cream, it has helped a treat, just dab the scars with a cotton pad
Reply:You need to use product specifically for scar treatment, or go see a dermatologist. They can do microdermabrasion which will help some of the discoloration, will cause your skin to go into it's 'healing' process, and may make the scars less noticible.
Reply:yes help is affable if you consult with your g p ask him or her for referral to a consultant dermatologist who will fully appreciate your concerns and embarrassment etc dint worry you are not on your own

Reply:I had the same problem for years.I found a very good dermatologist who's also a beautician and since then my face is ever so healthy! It really pays to visit a dermatologist since they can diagnose what's causing it, what type of acne you have and prescribe the right sort of medicine.
Take care
Reply:The only thing that does away with your scars is ILT which is intensive light treatment ( kind of laser )
It works but is expensive ! But when you think what money you would waste on stuff that doesn't work and ruins your skin to boot
it's worth it ! Laser clinics do it !
Good luck !
Reply:dermabrasion is good but expensive x
