Lots, probably--laser treatments of any kind are pretty expensive. However, it shouldn't be TOO much if you find a valuable center in your area... =o

Reply:Laser treatments are going to cost ALOT. yes 16 year olds are allowed to use proactive It won't remove your scars, but it will help with the current acne. But really if you see your dermatologist you can get a prescription, so you just have to take a pill.

Reply:Proactive only works for a few months. Then it sucks. try a pill perscribed by your dermitoligist. My brothers acne was sooooooooooooooooooo bad and now his skin is soooo clear that I am totally jelous.

Reply:I use to have acne pretty bad and my doctor put me on antibiotics. This will clear it up for a while because your body builds up a resistance to the antibiotic. Also, Clean your skin with rubbing alchol as often as you can. For scars you may want to get lazor treatment.

Sup all. I need something that is cheap like make-up to cover up acne scar, I still have acne.
Please help me. I can't afford the laser stuff and chemical stuff.

Although it might be a bit unnerving at first if you're intent on covering things up you might want to try just a bit of liquid liner or coverup. Just as an experiment you could go to your local pharmacy and pick out a color that matchs your skin tone. Buy the smallest one you can find and just try a dab here or there, spreading evenly over the area.
Now keep in mind it might take a bit to get the coloring right, and application can be tricky...less is more. Once you find one that works, if you decide to stick with it, you'll also probably want to get some clear powder and just put a little dab on thea area, just to help prevent smudging during the day, etc.
Make-up is make-up, though it might be in a section of the store that's aimed at women, cover-up can be used by anybody. Just make sure the skin-tone is a match and don't over do it, otherwise you'll look like a doll.
If it becomes a habit and you get more comfortable, you can always upgrade to higher end products, but you'd be surprised how far the cheap stuff gets you.

I think he was serious because he couldnt do anything surgically to fix it either and didnt want me to waste my money. After some time the scar really looks better so I'd say give it some time.

You said that you have oily skin so you may be wary of using an oil but if you only use it at night ,when your skin does most of its repairing,and do what you normally do during the day you might find that it is ok.
Also,i think gentle exfoliation a couple of times a week would help.
Reply:I know this will probably sound crazy, but lemon juice helps clear up any scars or uneven skin tone. It takes a while before you see results but I've seen it work. An added bonus is that the lemon juice will minimize the oil build-up on your face.

i have acne-prone skin... but now my skin is much more better, because i went for facial regularly... but it really cost me lots of money...

I have been using the Bee Luscious Skin care and makeup with great success on all my clients, and I have a very upscale client list with very specific needs.
First is your skin oily or normal? in regards to the acne package YES it works like nothing else I have ever used before, but it is truly for more of acne problem skin verses acne prone. I suggest the following routine:

Using and exfolient atleast once a week with help diminish the scar too.

There is a spanish cream called Crema de Concha, but I doubt it is sold in the USA or anywhere other than Latin America, maybe try to the latin groceries stores to see if they carry it.
Reply:U can help with acne by using a benzoyl peroxide treatment, Clearasil Ultra benzoyl peroxide acne cream works really well. Plus u can get it at almost any drugstore-Walgreens, Walmart. I used to have alot of little scars on my T-zone, and after using it for about 2 months u can barely see them. It also helps to prevent new acne, if that is a problem for u too. U need to try it on a small area of ur face first, because u might be allergic to it. But after u use it, about twice a day for a few months, ur skin should really clear up!

I have an Acne Scar, how can I get rid of it?
I have a scar on my face due to an acne problem (it's pretty dark). So i always have to have bangs .. and i'm so face conscience that I hate it when I go to a salon or have people do my make-up or something. The other good thing about these products is that they are cheap.

Hi, anyone can recommend me a good acne scar treatment product? (skin tissue loss, need to raise it to the level of normal skin) I don't like resurfacing kinda surgery, always afraid of side effects, also I visited a dermatologist, and according to him, my scars are severe, and it would take couples of month to complete the treatment. I don't have that much free time.

It has different levels that you progress to and I know professional dermabrasions are used to help with acne scars so it may be worth a shot. I really can't remember who it's made by, but just check out the skincare isle and you'll probably stumble upon it. It was an upright tube and lavender in color, but that's all I remember from the commercial. Best of luck!

to open the pores and loosen dirt and grease from your face turn off the heat from a pan of distilled water, add 3 tablespoons apple cider vinegar to a quart of the hot water. drape a towel over the pan and your head to steam clean your pores. take a cotton ball, dip in vinegar and pat over skin to remove loosened dirt. repeat 2 more times. then spray or dab on
chilled vinegar and equal part of distilled water to close your pores and tone your skin. do twice weekly, also can use the chilled vinegar water as a toner 2 times daily.

I hate toothpaste and it has ruined my life, I had a pimple and I put toothpaste on it (dumbest thing in my life). The toothpaste had burned my face and there was now a burn on the pimple. A day later the skin pealed and underneath seems to be an acne scar. I was just wondering how do you get rid of acne scars as soon as possible without having to do surgery.

Toothpaste is not good way to get rid of acne. You need VitaminE to reduce your scar. My reccomedation is Pure VitaminE oil cupsule.
You can also have a natural Vitamin E mask once a week
*Natural Honey-Almond Mask: This is mildly antiseptic.
1 egg yolk
2 tablespoons honey
10 drops almond oil
Whip until creamy.
Smooth on your face. Allow to rest for 10 minutes, then rinse with warm water and pat dry.
Store any extra in a jar in fridge.
Or you can also use wheat germ oils on your skin!!

Toothpaste is not good way to get rid of acne. You need VitaminE to reduce your scar. My reccomedation is Pure VitaminE oil cupsule.
You can also have a natural Vitamin E mask once a week
*Natural Honey-Almond Mask: This is mildly antiseptic.
1 egg yolk
2 tablespoons honey
10 drops almond oil
Whip until creamy.
Smooth on your face. Allow to rest for 10 minutes, then rinse with warm water and pat dry.
Store any extra in a jar in fridge.
Or you can also use wheat germ oils on your skin!!

Use a fresh, clean - lint free - cloth to apply the product. or you could try clean the area thoroughly with peroxide to take out any contaminants. Then take the Cocoa Butter and apply a small amount to the area and gently massage it in. For darker scarring use a little more cocoa butter and apply a warm cloth so it soaks in your skin better.

i didnt have scar problems on my face until recently. im only 22, but its been months and my acne scars havent vanished like before.(it used to vanish in around 3-7 days) its getting me worried..im covering it up with concealer, but that doesnt help when im at home (i cant wear chemicals on my face 24-7)... ive tried aloe vera cream+ vit-e cream and so much more products on the market, but still the scars havent faded away. does anyone know what is happening to my skin?what should i do?help!

Another thing to do it to rub olive oil on it. Do this for 4 weeks and it will go away. Trust me.

I was stuck with acne for quite a while now, even thought it not that bad anymore, i have acne scar all over my back, my chest, my face. I feel so bad, im now 21 year old. Working a full time job, going to chool, and trying to save money so that maybe i can fix this problem. Also, try Mary Kay Microdermabrasion. It gently removes the top layer of skin and I know a lady who has dramatically reduced the acne scars on her face by using it.

Also, afterwards, you face is red for like 1-2 days. I got a few tiny blisters on the sides of my face where she did it, but they weren't painful and didn't leave any marks.
It is a little pricey. They charge you by how many pulses they do (the number of times they zap you with the laser) and my total was $375 for both.
I would strongly recommend it to anyone!

i've read that aspirin can help to lighten scars.. it's also great for treating acne itself..
take about four aspirin and dissolve them in a few drops of water.. add in a squirt of honey and make it into a paste.. you can also add in a few vitamin e capsules if ya like.. this can be used as a scrub, mask if left on for ten minutes, and a spot treatment left on over night..
put it on the scars overnight with a bandaid over it..
just putting vitamin e on it alone will help also..
using lemon juice as a toner is great too.. lemon juice has been shown to lighten scars..
and watch the make up you use.. a mineral make up is much better for your skin.. it doesn't clog your pores or cause break outs.. i recommend bare minerals..

I hav some acne scar and dull skin although my skin is fair, how to improve it?
i've read that aspirin can help to lighten scars.. it's also great for treating acne itself..
take about four aspirin and dissolve them in a few drops of water.. add in a squirt of honey and make it into a paste.. you can also add in a few vitamin e capsules if ya like.. this can be used as a scrub, mask if left on for ten minutes, and a spot treatment left on over night..
put it on the scars overnight with a bandaid over it..
just putting vitamin e on it alone will help also..
using lemon juice as a toner is great too.. lemon juice has been shown to lighten scars..
and watch the make up you use.. a mineral make up is much better for your skin.. it doesn't clog your pores or cause break outs.. i recommend bare minerals..

Acne Scar Cover-up?
I have had pretty bad acne scar on my cheek for the past 5/6 months that I just can not figure out how to cover-up. It is pretty red and is kind of dry, and is quite large. What is the best solution to concealing this?! I have tried so many things and nothing seems to work. I'm even using Bare Minerals, but it is just doesn't work to conceal it without looking icky. Oh, and I need a really quick application process that I could do before putting on Bare Minerals that is FAST! And also need to be able to get it at Walmart or Target.

Also, anything by Avon is amazing (the only stuff i can use on my face)...you can order it online ( I know you said you'd rather buy in a store), or if you or someone you know sells Avon,I'd ask about their products.They do not test on animals.I know PETA can be a little crazy,but if you go to their site you can request a list of companies that do and do not animal test, I always carry one w/ me,and its very helpful. I used it when I was your age (and still do)and the scars pretty much went away and it looks as if I never had severe acne.

I think it takes longer than they let on. i'm pretty sure on the bottle it says like 8 weeks to see results. thats a long time! it stinks though. and be sure not to get it in your eyes if you get it.
cocoa butter works great for scars as far as i'm concerned. and its fairly cheap. it has to be 100% pure cocoa butter though- its usually in a stick form because its hard unless heated up a little.

You have to attack acne where it starts, with your diet. For me, diet was the cause and solution. Topical medications fight the symptoms. Start by eliminating trans fats and eating more fruits and vegetables. Once you start cleaning up the inside of your body, by eating properly, the outside of your body (your skin) will be get cleaned up too. I started a website to document my problem and solution.

You might find it helpful to read my story. Just remember to eat an all natural/organic diet with lots of fruits and vegetables. Stay away from processed foods. Use mild, all natural cleansers and don't pick at your face. Get lots of sleep and enough water for your body weight. Remember, clean body = clean skin. i was wondering can a dermatologists use laser or sumthing to zap away a darken acne scar. i hav a small 1 above my lips and it not going away. i been using maderma but not workin. the scar just need to be whiten. asap. school is startin n i need a sulution. i just need to whiten it can a docter do it and insurance pay for it?

I'm not sure about dermatologist procedures, but a way to get an acne scar to go away is by using retinol. The same thing in anti-wrinkle creams, it pulls your skin together making the acne scar away. I was prescribed a form of it from my doctor. With insurance it was only $15 instead of $75. If you want the color to go away temporally you can dab a little bit of the eye drops you put in your eye to take the redness out. It works exactly the same! It only lasts a few hours though. For me school starts next week and I don't think you should go along with a medical procedure like that unless you know its what you really want (and can afford). Best wishes to you!

I have for most of my nephews and my daughter advised them to use an over the counter bleaching cream name "Dr Palmer's". It can be found in most pharmacy or general stores and even beauty supply stores. I tell them to only apply the cream onto healed acne or other scars that are healed as well. Use a Q-Tip to apply it only to those areas and within just a couple of weeks all is well. The cream evens out the natural skin tone of your healty skin and leaves no uneven marks since you decide when to stop using it. (You know when it matches your regular skin when you can no longer tell where the scar was in the first place.) My daughter's skin was so bad she cried everyday because of it, now she is a diva.

umm, the 2 advices aren't something that'll have effects immediatlely but probably take a month. if you want something that'll get rid of it like right now, the best answer i got is makeup.
either way, drinking water and eating fruits and vegetables will be doing 2 things in one ( well actually more): you'll keep yourself hydrated, and you'll keep yourself from going hungry too much. it'll also save you money and time from buying facial creams masques and whatnot, mostly by the fact that when your eating healthy (w/ vegies nd fruits, some w/ vitamin E) you're also healing those scars as well.

Yes..it should fade away...if you ever the chance, look at some old pictures of brad pitt and recent ones...he had make up put on way back then too yet you notice that now his acne scars while still apparent on his check are skin colored so less visable. But this process may take a few years before it happens. Hope this helped!

I've suffered from cystic acne for twenty years and I know what you're going thru. It can ruin your life - just don't let it! People aren't looking as closely as you think - because they're too busy worrying that you're checking out their flaws!
A few years ago, I went to a plastic surgeon for laser treatment to smooth my skin and remove acne scars. It was THE WORST experience of my life. The pain was indescribable. My face had been burned to remove the top layers of skin and it throbbed and ached for days. All I could do was cry from the pain - and then the salt from my tears would burn my face. After it was all over, people said my skin looked better but I couldn't - and still can't - see it. And, yes, it was costly.
Talk to your GP/dermatologist about alternatives. Remember, it really IS more important to be beautiful on the inside (I know, but it's true) and always remember that people are not being critical of your flaws. They've got theirs and are far more worried about them!!
